Our team is a coed, student-run group of individuals who share a passion for sailing. We are a competitive racing team! Sailing is both a mentally and physically demanding sport where concentration and technical strategy are required to read the wind, plan your course during a race, and follow the racing rules of sailing. Our club holds on-the-water practices in the fall and spring, team meetings in the winter, and competes during all three terms around Oregon, Washington, and California. We sail in FJs, a two-person racing boat. We practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Eugene Yacht Club on Fern Ridge Reservoir (transportation is provided). We travel around 12 weekends in the academic year. We encourage students of any skill level to come check out the Sailing Team.
